đŸ‡«đŸ‡· JOIN LES BLEUS

Part-time Team Managers — French National Netball Team

The French National Netball Team is looking for enthusiastic, organised and proactive Team Managers to join our performance programme and support the team at training camps, competitions and international events.

This could be a fantastic opportunity in particular for students, graduates, career transitioners, and people of all ages interested in developing their skills in Sports Management, Sports Administration, Event Management, Performance Sport or Team Operations to gain practical experience working within an international national-team environment.

đŸ€ IT'S A TEAM EFFORT

This is a voluntary role. You'll work alongside the performance staff, administrators and other volunteers, with responsibilities shared across the team.

We're looking for people who can bring different strengths and availability to the team — whether that's regular camp attendance, competition experience, event organisation, administration or simply being someone who is calm, organised and great with people.

🏐 WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Team Manager, you'll help make sure the team has everything it needs to perform at its best.

Depending on your availability and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Team & squad logistics - helping coordinate players, accommodation & schedules
  • Training camp organisation - supporting venue bookings, equipment, kit & on-the-ground logistics
  • Competition & event operations - helping prepare for and manage informal & international ranking competitions
  • Match-day support - ensuring players and coaches have the information, equipment and support they need
  • Kit & equipment management - coordinating kit distribution, records and returns
  • Team communication - helping keep players, coaches and support staff informed and connected
  • Itineraries & information - preparing clear schedules, travel information and team documentation
  • Athlete support - being a friendly, approachable point of contact for players outside the coaching environment
  • Performance support - assisting with match-day statistics and other operational requirements where appropriate
  • Event administration - helping ensure deadlines, registrations & competition requirements are met

Some French would be ideal but you do not need to speak French to be considered for the role. Netball is played in English, and our current coaching staff are native English speakers. Members of our team based in France will provide support with French-language administration and local coordination when needed.

📅 COMMITMENT & TRAVEL

Programme period: September 2026 – December 2027

The squad comes together for a training camp or comp approximately once every 4–6 weeks, with camps taking place over weekends. Team Managers will share the workload in a small team, so you can take turns attending camps and competitions, allowing the role to work alongside university, work and other life commitments. We do not have a central office - all work outside of camps and competitions is completed remotely.

✈ There will also be opportunities to support the team at exciting international competitions, both in Europe and further afield. Travel and accommodation costs are covered for Team Managers attending camps and competitions.

💙 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Are interested in how a national sports team operates behind the scenes
  • Are highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple tasks
  • Communicate confidently, professionally and discreetly as required
  • Are proactive, practical and able to solve problems
  • Enjoy working with people and being part of a team
  • Can stay calm and make decisions when things don't go to plan
  • Are trustworthy and comfortable handling confidential information
  • Are enthusiastic about netball and/or sport in general

Previous team-management experience is welcome, but not essential. We're looking for the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn.

🚀 WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

You'll have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the management and operation of an international national-team programme, including:

Team Operations ‱ Event Management ‱ Logistics ‱ Athlete Support ‱ Competition Delivery ‱ Stakeholder Communication ‱ International Sport

It's an opportunity to be part of an ambitious and pioneering team, develop practical skills, build your experience and contribute to the growth of French netball on the international stage.

If you want to be involved, we'd love to hear from you.

Get in touch by sending an email outlining your motivation to Jayne Abbott our Performance Coordinator at performancecoord@netballfrance.com ideally by 9 September but ongoing until we find the right candidates.

“Being Team Manager for Les Bleus was an incredibly rewarding experience. It gave me the opportunity to work alongside an incredible group of athletes and staff, travel with the team, and be part of something that is helping to build French netball on the international stage.

I learned so much about team management, the realities of elite sport, and have created life-long friendships. I’d wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone who wants to get behind the scenes and be part of a national team.”

— Gaby Bell, Former Les Bleus Team Manager 2024-2026
